DEM participates in the NET-AI Workshop 4, organized by IBEC, with a talk on explainability techniques in artificial intelligence models applied to the biomedical field.
Professor Kevin Barrera participated as a speaker in the NET-AI Workshop 4: “ML for data augmentation and compression and model explicability”, organized by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). The workshop brought together researchers working at the intersection between machine learning and biomedicine, with sessions focused on synthetic data generation, data augmentation strategies, explainability techniques, and image compression models applied to the biomedical field. In this context, Professor Kevin Barrera gave a talk on explainability methods in artificial intelligence models, sharing part of the work developed from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in collaboration with Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. The session also included the participation of Cecilio Angulo, a reference in artificial intelligence, delegate of the UPC rector for artificial intelligence, and president of the Governing Council of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA).
